Please help us share the power of film with thousands of students throughout Westchester County.
Through dynamic screenings, workshops, and deep filmmaking experiences, we empower students to become discerning viewers, skilled storytellers, and socially conscious citizens. Over 70% of the more than 5,000 students who engage in our programs each year come from under-resourced schools and participate free of charge, including transportation to and from the JBFC campus.
Thanks to three leadership gifts, we have established the Ignite Education Challenge. All contributions to Ignite Education received by September 30, 2024, will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $125,000. In addition to helping us serve 5,000 students through our current programs, your gift will also support a broad range of new and enhanced initiatives, including:
- Director’s Cut programs in Screenwriting and Production for more than 40 high school students, including a Spanish-speaking cohort. We’ve removed barriers to entry with no participation fees and a $1,000 stipend per student to offset lost wages and transportation costs.
- Under the Influence, a relevant new program that equips hundreds of 7th graders with the tools to navigate social media platforms and recognize persuasive content.
- Deepening vibrant collaborations with key education partners, including NYU Tisch School of the Arts and Imagine Entertainment.
