SPOTLIGHT ON EDUCATION

Through screenings, workshops, and deep filmmaking experiences, the Jacob Burns Film Center empowers students to become discerning viewers, skilled storytellers, and socially conscious citizens.

Each year, more than 5,000 students engage in our innovative programs. Over 70% of these students come from under-resourced schools and participate free of charge, including transportation to and from the JBFC campus. In addition, we offer after-school courses, summer camp, family programs, and continuing education opportunities. Intensive fellowships for 10th and 11th grade students are available through our Director’s Cut High School Fellowship program, a collaboration with NYU Tisch School of the Arts and Imagine Entertainment.
