New York International Children's Film Festival Announces Partnerships with Jacob Burns Film Center and Sag Harbor Cinema for 2024 Event
FESTIVAL RUNS MARCH 2-17 IN NYC, MARCH 2-3 IN WESTCHESTER & MARCH 16-17 IN THE HAMPTONS
New York International Children’s Film Festival (NYICFF) is once again expanding beyond New York City in 2024. The Oscar®-qualifying festival announced partnerships with Jacob Burns Film Center and Sag Harbor Cinema, making these storied cinemas the official home of NYICFF 2024 in Westchester and the Hamptons, respectively.
“Our mission is to get our curation in front of as many kids and families as possible, “ said NYICFF Executive Director Nina Guralnick. “We are thrilled to be working with partners like Jacob Burns Film Center and Sag Harbor Cinema who are as passionate about the transformative power of film for kids.”
Each venue will present new films from the 2024 lineup, curated by NYICFF Director of Programming Maria-Christina Villaseñor in collaboration with JBFC Senior Programmer Monica Castillo and SHC Founding Artistic Director Giulia D’Agnolo Vallan. The beloved Shorts for Tots program for the youngest audiences (ages 3-6) will screen at both venues.
“The programs at both Jacob Burns Film Center and Sag Harbor Cinema encompass the varied styles, stories, and genres that make independent film so vital and important,” said Villaseñor. “We are honored to help them provide that same breadth and quality to the young people in their communities and spark a love of cinema for years to come.”
We are proud to join forces with New York International Children’s Film Festival and Sag Harbor Cinema as an official partner for NYICFF 2024. This collaboration underscores the JBFC’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of film enthusiasts by cultivating a lifelong appreciation for storytelling, art, and the shared experience of watching films on the big screen together. We are creating lasting memories, starting new traditions for families, and fostering a
love for the transformative power of cinema across generations,” said Mary Jo Ziesel, Jacob Burns Film Center Executive Director.
“We are thrilled to renew our collaboration with the NYICFF. Since its reopening almost three years ago, Sag Harbor Cinema has become a beloved East End destination for kids of all ages and their families to watch film. NYICFF’s rich history and its wide international reach allows us to bring to our public even more exciting programs and to engage our young audience with the most visionary animation, best storytelling and exciting artists from all over the world,” said
D’Agnolo Vallan.
Tickets to the 2024 edition of New York International Children’s Film Festival go on sale on February 7 for NYICFF members and February 12 for the general public.

About NYICFF
Established in 1997, NYICFF’s mission is rooted in the belief of film as a path for young people to understand themselves and others. All programs are designed to celebrate the beauty and power of film, spark the inherent capacity of children to connect with complex, nuanced art, and encourage the creation of intelligent films that represent and celebrate unique, diverse, and historically excluded voices. NYICFF serves children, students, families, educators, filmmakers,
and media arts professionals through its core activities: the annual, Oscar®-qualifying NYC film festival and national touring program; FilmEd, a media arts and literacy program; and Toward an Inclusive Future, an annual industry forum. NYICFF is 501(c)(3) non-profit arts organization.
