Strange Weather

Q&A filmmaker Katherine Dieckmann with JBFC Programmer Karen Goodman

I’m thrilled to introduce this lyrical, emotionally rich drama to our JBFC audience, and to welcome veteran filmmaker Katherine Dieckmann for a Q&A. Just off the festival circuit, her fourth film features Academy Award winner Holly Hunter (Thirteen) as a fierce, sexy, and determined woman who travels the deep south with her best friend (Carrie Coon, Gone Girl, HBO’s The Leftovers) to uncover the truth about the one event in her life that she can’t get over. Dieckmann has crafted a compelling story about overcoming loss, infused with humor and nuance, which resonates deeply as her unforgettable protagonist grapples with the complexity of recovering from grief while finding a way to embrace forgiveness and move forward in grace and redemption. – Karen Goodman, Programmer
