Darío Roitman, an Argentine emigré living in New York City, returns to Buenos Aires for his sister’s wedding and his niece’s Bat Mitzvah. On his way, he gets the news that his father has died. With the wedding plans in disarray because of the mourning period, a myriad of conflicts emerge among the family’s four siblings. Gabriel, The emotionally stifled eldest brother refuses to speak at his father’s funeral. Daniela, about to marry, is eight months pregnant and refuses to postpone the wedding. Simmering family feuds erupt, along with resentments and recriminations about the inheritance, and deeper personal issues. Sur manages to treat the drama with a light touch, as the Roitmans look to find their “Mazel,” or joy. A box office hit, Mazel Tov was the most successful Argentine film of 2025.

"Adrián Suar must be recognized for his great talent for comedy: he's funny and knows how to compose those verbose characters who always mess up, like few others can. Mazel Tov is narrated with a pleasant and classic style, and with a dramatic comedic tone that has a long tradition in Argentine cinema, in addition to leaving a much-needed lesson."
