Love in the Afternoon

Screening & Lecture with Film Writer and NYU Professor Matt Prigge

A middle-aged playboy (Gary Cooper) becomes fascinated by the daughter (Audrey Hepburn) of a private detective (Maurice Chevalier), who has been hired to entrap him with the wife of a client.

After the screening, stay for a lecture and discussion featuring writer and NYU Professor Matt Prigge. Keep the conversation going at Take 3 Wine Bar & Café on the third floor; open Thursdays from 4:00pm onwards.

Catch more screenings and lectures as part of the Cinema Studies: Billy Wilder series in February, featuring Ace in the Hole, Love in the Afternoon, and A Foreign Affair. Members pay just $25 per session saving an extra $10 per session when you purchase tickets to all three Billy Wilder Cinema Studies. Don’t miss this incredible deal for members!

"The visual gags that Wilder deploys are as stingingly cynical as ever, but here they have a newfound way with time, which they inhabit with an exquisitely controlled leisure. It's the first of Wilder's later and greatest films."
Richard Brody, The New Yorker
