Q&A with director Tony Benna and Dr. Mojdeh Momeni from White Plains Hospital

• Tony Benna began making stop motion animations and skateboard videos at a very young age with his big brother and the other neighborhood kids. It was these childhood productions that taught him to look at things not for what they are, but what they could be. Basements became production studios, cardboard boxes became sets, and cotton balls became clouds. Today not much has changed, he still leans on this innovative sensibility allowing him to make magic even on the most strained budget. As a director, he enjoys intertwining his stop motion background and live action storytelling together, to create distinctive heartfelt films, both in and out of the commercial world. His feature film debut Andre is an Idiot was awarded the Audience Award and the Jonathan Oppenheim Editing Award at Sundance.
• Dr. Mojdeh Momeni is a board-certified gastroenterologist at WPHPA Digestive Disease and Nutrition Consultants of Westchester in White Plains. With more than 20 years of experience, Dr. Mojdeh Momeni provides expert, compassionate digestive health care with a personalized, patient-centered approach. She is a board-certified gastroenterologist who treats a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions, including GERD, celiac disease, Barrett’s esophagus, liver disorders, diverticulosis, and gastrointestinal cancer screening. Dr. Momeni earned her medical degree from Shahid Beheshti University in Tehran and completed her Internal Medicine residency at New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, where she served as Chief Resident. She subsequently completed her Gastroenterology Fellowship at The Brooklyn Hospital Center. Her professional honors include being recognized as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor since 2023 and being named among Westchester Magazine’s Best Doctors in 2024. She has also received the Healthgrades Choice Provider Award and maintains 5-star ratings on Healthgrades, Vitals, and WebMD. Dr. Momeni is a Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology and serves as Physician Champion for the Open Access Colonoscopy Initiative. She has held faculty and leadership positions at NYU Langone Hospital–Brooklyn, The Brooklyn Hospital Center, and St. George’s University. She was also honored as “Best Teaching Attending” at Lutheran Medical Center.
